HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a Biological Identification Capability Set (BICS) Operator to work out of their Abingdon, MD office.
The BICS Operator monitors biological sensor suites, respond to alarms, collect samples, and conduct sample analysis using laboratory equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Monitor biological sensor suites, respond to alarms, collect samples, and conduct sample analysis using laboratory equipment.
Assist in performing maintenance activities as needed.
This role is mainly executed during the night shift, but can escalate to 24/7 operations at force protection condition (FPCON) Charlie or Delta.
BICS operators will be on-site, or on-call, depending on FPCON level and intelligence
Assume the applicable level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) IAW current FPCON.
May be tasked to confirm presence of Chemical Warfare Agent (CWA) by using an M256 kit to substantiate any questionable Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD) alarms.
Manages BICS laboratory (and all associated consumables).
Manages sensors and all associated consumables.
Operate BICS laboratory equipment to process sample and report results to Joint All-Hazards Common Control Station (JACCS) Operator.
Conducts daily Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on BICS laboratory equipment IAW manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Upload and maintain operational and support data in MAXIMO.
Able to work independently and with a team to achieve mission success
Willing to support non-standard work hours
Positions require indoor and outdoor work in varying environmental conditions
Qualifications and Experience:
Three (3) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree. May consider five years’ experience without a degree.
Experience in collecting and handling environment samples
Experience performing sample analysis
Familiarity with DoD Chain of Custody documentation and procedures
Microbiology Laboratory Experience
Decision Support Tool experience
CWA/Biological Warfare Agent (BWA) experience
Bio/Chem Sensor Experience
Environment Sample Analysis and Chain of Custody Procedural experience
Military veteran, former military civilian, or Defense contractor
Active Secret security clearance
